Eea Agreement Commentary
Notwithstanding the fact that these agreements have been established in separate legal instruments, they form part of the overall balance of the results of the negotiations and constitute essential elements for the approval of the EEA Agreement. With a view to improvement, annexes and protocols, which are not easily accessible, shall be printed, where appropriate, as well as amendments. With regard to the publication of relevant information on the EEA to be published after the entry into force of the EEA Agreement, I have the honour to summarise the agreement we have reached as follows. the possibility of maintaining bilateral agreements in the field of social security after the expiry of the transitional periods of free movement of persons may be the subject of bilateral debate between Switzerland and the States concerned; (b) in the case of the EFTA States by the EFTA Surveillance Authority, in accordance with the rules of an agreement between the EFTA States establishing the EFTA Surveillance Authority, responsible for the powers and tasks defined in Protocol 26. . . .
